NextGen Power Solutions is a family-owned company with roots tracing back to the late 1950s. The current owner, Nick, is a third-generation electrician who entered the field in 1986. Nick’s paternal grandfather started A.L. Williams Electric, a company specializing in electrical, heating, and air services. The company later evolved into Marathon Electric, which Nick helped manage in addition to performing electrical work. Several of Nick’s uncles and cousins have also worked as electricians for the company over the decades.

By 2020, Marathon Electric had acquired so many customers with such a broad range of projects that it made more sense to divide the work between two businesses. Nick founded NextGen Power Solutions to serve the local customers of the North Atlanta suburbs, while his cousin continued to provide specialized installation services to national chains through Marathon. Even with the transition, Nick has continued to acquire nearly all his business from word-of-mouth referrals. Nick strongly values integrity and a solid work ethic, so happy customers are how he knows he’s running his business right. His team provides safe, courteous electrical service to the areas of Woodstock, Alpharetta, Cumming, Dawsonville, Big Canoe, and more.

Nick Williams is the CEO of NextGen Power Solutions. He is an Etowah high school grad and former hockey player. When he’s not working, you’ll find him traveling the USA, watching or playing sports, enjoying video games with his kids, or playing with his grandchildren and puppy. Nick has always loved teaching and mentoring, and he hopes to someday open his own school for electrician training.
